Lewa Canada

The Lewa Wildlife Conservancy (Canada)  - known as Lewa Canada -- was established as a registered Charity in April 2005 (Business Information Number: 86187 6357 RR0001)  in support of the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy (LWC).

Lewa Canada's two main roles are to: 

· increase awareness of and raise funds for LWC; and
· facilitate and increase Canada's educational, research and other linkages with LWC.

Lewa Canada is managed by an all-volunteer Board comprised of 7 members. The Board is committed to helping LWC achieve its goals, and includes members with expertise in education, finance, fundraising, marketing, wildlife, wildlife film-making and wildlife research.

The Board members of Lewa Canada are:

Lewa Canada's Advisory Council was established in 2007 and has 8 members whose role is to help promote and support Lewa Canada's and LWC's activities.

The all-volunteer efforts of Lewa Canada's Board and Advisory Council have enabled the transfer of over 95% of all funds that were received during 2005-2007 to LWC in Kenya. Since obtaining charitable status in april 2005, Lewa Canada has transferred almost CAD$400,000 to LWC

Donations to Lewa Canada for LWC can be made by bank draft, cheque or money order made payable to the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy (Canada).

Receipts for income tax purposes will be issued for all donations of a minimum amount of CAD$10.
