Manyangalo Ranch Fence
(another 7,000 acres), an extremely important and exciting event has taken place. The old fence is being dropped as we speak. Movement of wildlife into this area has already taken effect, as the recent game census showed, with one herd of zebra on Manyangalo comprising of 187 individuals. Elephant have moved onto this piece of land for the first time in over 20 years. To cap it all, there are two black rhino in a fenced off area on Manyangalo by Willie Roberts camp. The total area that is available, protected and secured for the Lewa rhinos has gone from 5.000 acres in 1983 to 62.000 acres in March 2004. All of us here on Lewa are extremely excited and happy about this.
