Located at the foothills of Mount Kenya, Lewa Wildlife Conservancy is a leader in wildlife conservation and habitat protection. We focus on safeguarding endangered species, supporting community conservation and development initiatives, and educating local communities about the value of wildlife.
For more than 30 years, Lewa has nurtured a thriving black rhino population, helping to create a strong and diverse ecosystem that supports species like the endangered Grevy’s zebra, elephants, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, and many others.
Our vision is a Kenya where people and wildlife coexist in harmony. We believe this future depends on communities thriving through sustainable livelihoods that protect natural habitats. To achieve this, we invest in education, healthcare, water access, micro-enterprise, youth empowerment, and more.
As a model and catalyst for conservation, Lewa’s approach has influenced the management of private and community lands across northern Kenya, placing people at the heart of wildlife protection.
