As part of our continued efforts to strengthen Lewa’s conservation impact and operational effectiveness, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Adrian Paul to the newly established role of Chief of Conservancy

In this role, Adrian will oversee departments critical to the protection and management of Lewa’s landscape — including security, conservation and wildlife, and operations. His leadership will ensure strong coordination across teams that safeguard our wildlife, support tourism, and uphold the Lewa Standard within our protected area.

As CEO Mike Watson noted, “The establishment of the new position of Chief of Conservancy has been very well received by all staff at Lewa, as well as tourism partners and residents. Adrian’s appointment to this new position has also been celebrated by staff, who are delighted to see the recognition of Adrian’s calm leadership, steady hand and approachable character in this internal promotion.”

Adrian has been an integral part of the Lewa team for many years as the Head of Operations. He brings a deep understanding of our mission, our landscape, and the collaborative spirit that defines Lewa.

Reflecting on the new role, Adrian shared: “I am honored to be given this opportunity to further my contribution to Lewa and surrounding communities. Wildlife and conservation are my passion and to be part of such an amazing team at a time when conservation requires both innovation and unity is a great privilege. I look forward to supporting our exceptional teams and working closely with our partners to protect this incredible landscape for generations to come.”

Please join us in congratulating Adrian on this exciting new step. We remain grateful for your continued partnership.
