Education is a powerful tool that can break barriers and uplift communities. However, many children in rural Kenya do not have access to quality education and must rely on the chance of a scholarship as the only means to attend high school or tertiary institutions.
Lewa is focused on building a bursary pool fund to support all students moving into secondary school within Lewa’s network. In addition to tuition support, Lewa provides biannual mentorship sessions covering career guidance, life skills, and mental health—led by professionals, program alumni, and Lewa staff.
Your contribution can unlock the potential of hundreds more young Kenyans, transforming individual lives and uplifting entire communities.
Our Solution
Under our new bursary model, Lewa will cover up to 75% of tuition costs for all students moving from primary into secondary education in the schools supported by Lewa, while families contribute the remaining 25%.
Each year, the program will support an average of 720 students
transitioning from 19 primary schools into secondary schools. Students will be supported through the entirety of secondary school to enable the maximum number to complete their basic education.
