Alex Beard with the winners of the live-auction painting.
This past Thursday wildlife artist and Lewa supporter Alex Beard premiered his new film “Drawing the Line” at the Explorers Club in New York City. The 35 minute film focuses on horrors of poaching, as well as the widespread impact of the illegal trade in wildlife products; then goes on to show how Lewa and the Northern Rangelands Trust are making a difference in the fight.
The audience responded with warm support and enthusiastic applause. Once it finished, Lewa’s Head of Conservation Geoffrey Chege spoke briefly about Lewa’s work, followed by a live auction of a painting from Alex Beard’s private collection.
All proceeds from the night will go to support Lewa and NRT, through Alex Beard’s Watering Hole Foundation.
Lewa is extremely grateful to Alex for his support and his artistic vision that lead to the creation of this film.
